Group vs dynamic channels
Zello@Work Server supports three types of channels —
group channels,
hidden group channels and
dynamic channels:
-
Use group channels to link together the users, who often need to talk to each other.
A good example is departments or work groups.
A user can only see the contacts, sharing at least one group channel with him.
-
If you want to take advantage of a group channel to exchange contacts within a group
but don't want to enable one-to-many communication with that group use hidden group channel.
-
Use dynamic channels to create topic channels, where users can join and leave dynamically.
Typical examples are company-wide news channel, emergency channel, project-focused channels.
-
Since all users in a group channels are added to the contacts of each other the practical
maximum number of users per group channel is about 100.
-
Dynamic channels could easily handle all users in your network and don't have strong limits
on the number of users connected.
-
A user can connect and disconnect from dynamic channels in real-time using the client app.
This is not possible with the group channels.
